Wow! That was fun. We had a ball at the first Miller Green Supper club and, from the feedback we’ve had (and the high spirited noise levels in the dining room) so did our guests.
It’s always nerve-wracking launching a new initiative and we were as nervous as anyone would be. Would anyone come? Would they like the food? Will they get on? Will there be awkward silences? In the event our concerns came to nought. We sold all the tickets and the evening went like a dream.
The theme
The theme of the evening was Autumn Feast. The menu featured vegetables supplied by the wonderful Hugo of North Street, as well as produce from the Miller Green allotment which is still producing as the season draws to a close
The menu
We served our guests a menu of roasted butternut squash soup with fried sage leaves, Somerset cider granita, mushroom and tofu bourguignon with celeriac mash and crispy kale, and finished off with apple and ginger sticky toffee pudding with a caramel sauce
If you’re interested in a more detailed description of the dishes, one of our guests, Kirsty Bowman, wrote a blog which you can read here https://kbowbristol.life/2018/10/17/miller-green-first-supper-club/?fbclid=IwAR1MeHCE7xggqL9sfkASr36VFtSfLoenz82eT9OSzByToANd2L3DBQNUMy4
The next one
We will be running another Supper Club on Saturday 24th November, when we will be taking our inspiration from Lebanese cuisine for a proper Middle Eastern Feast. Details will be sent out shortly. If you would like to go onto our mailing list for details, email sue@millergreen.co.uk.
